“This old coaching inn struck me as a genuine portal to Poole's past; its location is fantastic, right on the high street. I think families will find it particularly appealing, with dedicated menus for children and a very convivial bar atmosphere. All in all, a solid choice if you appreciate character and easy access to local attractions.”

spacious room separate shower great choice small room uncomfortable pillows
the room was lovely and spacious. the bathroom had both a bath and a separate shower. breakfast offered a great choice, including a full english and salmon with scrambled eggs (i found the salmon particularly good).
The room i had felt quite small. the pillows were not comfortable for me. It was fully booked, and i was not able to eat there when i wanted to.

Great stay in a central location

great breakfast handy location friendly staff helpful service
The room was a family room. The breakfast had lots of choice and was excellent. The location was very handy. Staff are very friendly and helpful with requests.
Parking was a bit away in council multistorey, and it was a real hassle getting bags in and out.

The hotel had a courtyard garden. The breakfast offered a good choice of continental options and cooked breakfasts. There was a bar that served quality food and drink.

Fantastic Stay Right in the Heart of Everything!

great location spacious en suite nice bar
The location was great, right by the quay! I found the room to be a good size, complete with a spacious en suite bathroom. The hotel also has nice restaurant and bar areas (the Sunday roast was great!).
I noticed that the bathrooms could use some updating (but everything was still very clean).
Rooms
9/10
The room featured comfy beds and was clean. The room size was pretty large and very cozy, with enough space for luggage. I was provided with an iron and an ironing board.
Service
10/10
The staff members were amazing, very friendly, and helpful (Derek, Tracy and Craig deserve a special mention!). The service I received in the bar and restaurant was equally excellent. I really felt welcomed during my entire stay.
Dining
9/10
The breakfasts were delicious, and they included a good variety of hot options as well as continental choices. I particularly enjoyed the eggs royale. The bar had a great selection of drinks too (I tried the local ale!).
Facilities
8/10
The hotel is close to various attractions and the quay, so it is easy to walk around. I parked in the Quay visitors multi-storey car park as suggested, and it was just a short walk away. The hotel also has a quirky, pub-like atmosphere.
